I am working on a merit badge called Tracking!
I have to take some pictures of tracks and animals, here are some of them.
I need 30 points and have 16 points. The points each picture is worth is under the picture.

Corn Dogs
We made corn dogs Saturday because we like them. Momma found a recipe for them!
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
this is fun - 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- Dash pepper
- 10-12 hot dogs. Make sure they are thawed out, dry and dusted with corn starch
daddy did this - 10-12 wooden skewers
- Oil for deep frying.
- In a medium bowl, combine dry ingredients. Stir in eggs and milk. Mix well.
- Pour batter in large deep glass.
- Preheat oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit in a deep saucepan over medium heat.
- Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.
- Dip hot dogs in batter until well coated.
- Fry 2 or 3 corn dogs at a time until lightly browned, about 3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Drop remaining batter by tablespoon full and deep fry until cooked through.
- Daddy said that we should have tried cheese cubes dipped in the batter and fry that.

A Megan Grace
I wrote this
for my new baby sister. She was born last Thursday night.
Adrian started singing “A Megan grace” after she got home from the hospital. So I had fun making up this song! You sing it to the Gilligan’s Island theme song.

Here are the best ones. I prefer taking pictures of things and scenery to people. Momma asked me to try to get some good ones of everyone though.
Learning
I am learning to play guitar! Daddy is teaching me. I have learned to play a few chords and Hush Little Baby!

My First Rodeo
Yesterday, Daddy took me to my first rodeo. I took a lot of pictures. Here are the best! It was a lot of fun!
Ring of Fire
Yesterday we went to the fair. I asked to go on the Ring of Fire. I wanted to do something very daring. I am glad Daddy came with me!
I liked it but did not at the same time. I would try the straight up and down ride before trying this one again.

Blueberries
Today we went blueberry picking. They were smaller than last time, but very good.
4-H Update
I earned a red ribbon for my candle. Meaning it did not do as well as a blue, but did good. The judge said to work on getting rid of air bubbles (there were some on the bottom of the candle) and to finish my seams better (there was a funny line around the top). But everything else was “well done”.
The judge wrote “great color!” I used an old white candle that I added one brown crayon. I used Turkish Mocha to scent it. Momma really likes it!
I earned an Honor Ribbon for this one. Honor is better than a blue. It means it is very very good. The only way you can get to very very very good (the “big” ribbons) is by getting to honor.
The judge said that I had a nice display. “She” did not like how I had the numbers ordered. She thought that picture 9 told a good story. Number 2 was an interesting arrangement (It took me a half hour to an hour trying to get that!) She liked the portraits 1 and 4 and thought picture 6 had nice framing.
I also earned an Honor ribbon for this poster. The judge thought that the numbers should be “smaller–perhaps in lower right hand corner” of the pictures. She checked that I did everything excellently; imagination, composition, labeled neatly and that I had excellent contrast, exposure and lighting. Momma said great! Black and Whites are hard to get “excellent”.
The bike picture was the only one that I was trying to get in black and white. I did not want that in color at all.
I feel good about this year. I did it ALL by myself. Daddy and Momma helped me with the approving the final layout and cutting out the construstion paper, but I did everything else!
