Today, we are going to the Kalahari. It is not only a desert it is also a waterpark in Ohio. A few years ago we went there with the Omars. This time it is a unschoolers waterpark gathering.
At the waterpark there is a lot of fun rides like you could learn to Boogie Board. (On real water not carpet ). You could also do the Swahili Swirl as long as you did not do it with momma. There were other rides like the wave pool or lazy river but those were my favorite.
We went to the Upper Peninsula on vacation last month!
It was fun! We went to Copper Harbor. It is a small town. It was so small there was no cellphone signal!
There were loooots and looots of rocks up there. We went looking for copper, green stones and other fun rocks! We found some copper and maybe green stone at a mine dump. We also found agates and other colorful and some almost perfectly round rocks by Lake Superior.
The Cliff Mine is a dead mine and they made a pile of the stuff they do not need. If you are up there, you can go there and look for neat rocks and artifacts. Momma went up there looking for copper when she was little. I found lots of neat rocks. We think some of it is Greenstone. I found three rusty nails, one broken. I also found one “thing”. If anyone knows what it is part of, please let me know 🙂 . While there, Adrian was looking in the water. He found some polished rose quartz, he held it up high and shouted, “I found a diamond!”
Do you know what the "thing" on the right is?
We had fun!
Collecting Rocks
Unknown Author
I think that there shall never be an ignoramus just like me
Who roams the hills throughout the day
To pick up rocks that do not pay,
For there’s one thing I’ve been told
I take the rocks and leave the gold
O’er deserts wild or mountains blue
I search for rocks of varied hue.
A hundred pounds or more I pack,
Greenstone, copper, agates, Petoskey Stones, fossils and other fun stones
With blistered feet and aching back.
And after this is said and done
I cannot name a single one.
I pick up rocks where ‘ere I go
The reasons why, I do not know
For rocks are found by fools like me
Where God intended them to be.
On Friday we went to Skyview Ranch for a “work weekend”. We had clean the archery range. We put wood on a pile so someone could clean it up. We also raked leaves and rocks and sticks in the adventure obstacle course.
Theanimals run (or walk) free (except for the pigs). Dudley, the burro (or donkey) likes to roam around the food place! I learned how to ride him.
Daddy and I rode a horse. I was nervous at first but felt better later.
I learned to canoe with Reece and Cardin and my new friends Micah and Joshua. I also got “blobbed” by Daddy and Cardin and slid down the water slide. Â
Reece and Cardin were in a “walking parade.” We followed them to the cemetery and then they had a memorial service for the people who fought (and are fighting) in the military for Memorial Day.
Best of all I got to play with Reece and Cardin!!!!
A few days ago we went to the CREATION Museum in Kentucky!!!!!!!!!!!!    😮      8)     😉
We went because  it was a Christmas Surprise from Oma!!!!!!   The Christmas Surprise was ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also met Ken Ham !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wrote a bunch of neat books about Creation and evolution.  He writes about how evolution is not true and God created the world in 6 – 24 hour days. Creation is true!
We learned about the  “7 C’s of Creation”. They are God Created everything.  Adam and Eve ate the fruit that God them not to and caused Corruption to the world. Catastrophe happened when there was a world wide flood and God judged the world. Noah and his family survived on the ark, but everybody else died because they chose not to listen to God. Years later God Confused peoples languages at Babel. The people where trying to build a tower that reached up to heaven. Jesus Christ came as a baby and died on the Cross for when we disobey. Then he rose again! Consummation is when Jesus returns to the world. He is going to take people who believe in him to heaven and judge the world. Then he will remake the world. It’s going to be perfect!
My favorite thing was…give me a year to think it over. Because there was lots of neat things and I don’t know which one was my favorite.
Here are some things I saw. Here is one of my favorite fossils–I call it fossilized meal! 🙂
There are lots more pictures and I will show you on another blog entry. If you go on to Andrea’s blog, she will have some more pictures!
At the carnival we saw uncle Jo. Somebody did our hair. We got our face painted. We played games. I got rattlesnake eggs (they are magnets) . We petted (and held) goats.
It was fun 🙂 !
Tune in next time to read about sum thing Mommy and Daddy have never done but I did!
