Guess what I saw today!

Fawn stareToday, while Mommy was driving around the park we saw a doe with her fawn! Mom stopped the car and I got out to see if I could get a picture.  There was a small clump of trees that they had run into so I walked around it and did not see them. Mommy pointed for me to go around again so I did. As I was walking around, the fawn ran straight at me, stopped and ran around me!

I think it got within 3 yards of me before running away. I’ve never had a deer that close.Fawn runningfawn

Flowers

Mommy found a way to make flower pictures look really neat. She taught us and told us we could have fun editingflower.

I took this picture at Bonneville Mill’s mum garden last year. When we go to the mill we normally go to the garden because it is across the bridge from the mill. There are a lot of different types of mums there but my favorites are the ones with bugs on them.

Gift

sap

One of our friends had 30 gallons more maple sap then he needed so he gave it to us. It would take us about 5 days to collect that much on a good week. It takes  40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.

We are planing to make sugar with it, and I don’t know how much sugar 30 gallons of sap would make.  But it will be a good start for what we need this year.

Thank you Mr. Courtney!

Sledding

Mark sleddingWe got 6 1/2 inches of snow last night. I helped shovel the neighbors driveway. We tried to do it quietly, but she caught us.

Then, we went sledding. It was fun!  The snow was very deep, so it was hard coming up the hill.

I was doing a very “good job” sledding today, I probably traveled more with the sled not under me than anyone else did. The only times I remember getting to the bottom of the hill was when I went down with someone else 🙂

We enjoyed sledding, but we had to leave when the hill got too busy with wild “big kids”.  Momma had checked and saw that schools had a two hour delay, but we learned later that schools had been canceled for the day so everyone went sledding!

Oh Deer, John is Dead!

Oh deer John is dead! When the kids went to Science Sleuths this month, Momma, Megan and I went for a walk. We decided to go some place we have never gone to before. It had a couple of islands, a bunch of neat trees and quite a few shells. We were walking along the trail and Momma saw a bunch of ducks that flew away.  As they were taking off, I saw some ribs in a patch of ice on the river.  I went along past a tree and saw an antler, then I called back to tell Momma what I found.

I got a picture of it because Momma could not see it very well from where she was.  I practiced editing it to make it look better.  It would have been a little better if there was a skull–though I don’t think I could have taken it from the park–or a lot better if the buck had still been alive 🙂

Countdown to Thanksgiving– O Deer!

Yesterday, the girls and Adrian went to Science Sleuths. Momma, Megan and I went on a walk  and we saw some deer. We decided to take some pictures. We like this one that Momma fixed up.

Hello! Hello!
Oh deer. Oh deer.
STOP REPEATING ME! STOP REPEATING ME!
Uggg. Uggg.

Countdown to Thanksgiving–9 November

Today I am thankful for squirrels.

We have had lots in our backyard that we have been enjoying watching. They are enjoying chasing each other up and down trees and all around the place. So I decided to “shoot” some; it is very hard. I have yet to know how a camera can focus on a small twig but not a squirrel.

This one is my favorite pictures.

Fall Leaf

Today I went outside and saw a neat leaf. I went and asked Momma if I could borrow her camera. She said yes and so I went and took this picture.

I showed it to momma and she really…

Well, that isn’t quite right, she really liked it and helped me fix it up so it looked better.

!!!New Crea!!!

Look at me! I have a new jacket and I am ready for my nap. Then I am going to get my “hair” done, then it is nap time, then it is snack time, then it is lunch time…”

A new Crea was born today!!! His name is Chirpa.

Chirpa is a good name for him because Chirpa is a Ewok (small and fuzzy) and Chirpa is a Alpaca Crea (fuzzy and currently small).

The reason he has a green jacket on is because he was shivering.

I think Chirpa looks like a tiny white giraffe with a crea blanket on.

“Can you dye my “hair” blue?”
“NO! You may not!”
“But M—“
“DON’T But Mom me.”
